A PRICELESS GIFT

Incomprehensible. Baffling. Unimaginable. Priceless. It’s like those television commercials that remind you some things in life cost a lot of money, but some things are of such great value, there’s no way to attach a price tag to them.

.

God’s love is like that. The truth is that the Holy God, Creator of the Universe, loves you. Yes, you! And He wants to give you new life.

.

Only one thing stands in the way: sin. But through Christ’s unselfish sacrifice, there is a way to remove the barrier of sin. Romans 2:23 says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus, the perfect Son of God, willingly took the sins of the whole world – including yours – and died on the cross, making it possible for your sin to be forgiven and providing you with the promise of an eternity with Him.

.

The gift of salvation is available only through God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 declares God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!

.

Salvation comes by faith alone. Ephesians 2:8 explains, By grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift – not from works, so that no one can boast. Faith is a decision of the heart, demonstrated by repentance or turning away from sin and going the opposite way.

.

The choice is yours. Romans 10:9 affirms, if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. You can trust God and receive His free gift – His incomprehensible, priceless gift of eternal life. You can have the ultimate gift that money can’t buy.

.

If you’re choosing right now to believe Jesus died for your sins and to receive new life through Him, pray a prayer similar to this one: Dear God, I know I’m a sinner. I believe Jesus died to forgive me of my sins. I now accept Your offer of eternal life. Thank you for forgiving me of all my sin. Thank You for my new life. From this day forward, I will choose to follow You.

Other Random-ness…

1.29.09

Listen. Think. Pray. Plan. Wait. Speak. Give. Go. Grow. Live. Learn.

I want us to actively seek God’s Will, God’s Way(s), God Himself.

Not activity for the sake of activity. These are eager actions that carry the hope of catching a glimpse of God’s grace in our everyday activities. It’s a lofty goal… to see the divine in my trip to the supermarket. Experience the ordinary in an extrodinary way. This is the way in which we can seek to live.

This new way of seeing, being, living, etc… is not really about what we can do about our own perceptions. I believe this new way is prescribed in God’s Word as something that God can do in us.

Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

— We need to remind ourselves that the Father sees the “big picture,” that His power far exceeds our limited imagination. We must never become satisfied with our dreams, for they are finite at best. When we follow God’s direction, we will witness things happening in our lives that can only be explained by His powerful presence. How could we be satisfied with anything less? (H. Blackaby) —
