THIS MONTH
We are gearing up for Graduate Sunday + Graduate Appreciation Luncheon on May 17th followed by a SNAC fellowship event later that evening at Dr. Steve & Ms. Sonia Coulter’s home. Our ‘09 FPHS Graduates will finalize their wonderful month of activity with the Graduation Ceremony on May 22.
.
On a personal note, I appreciate this group of seniors for their patience and faithful commitment to fbc youth. They said goodbye to their longtime youth pastor, jamie mackey, in ‘07 and they said hello to their new youth minister, me, later that same year. It’s a tough place to be when a transition like that occurs; however, these students were a blessing to their peers and the entire church family through the changes in leadership @ fbc. Thank you ‘09 seniors for your faithfulness and commitment.

Choir tour is on this month’s horizon as well. See roger walworth and jeff ford for additional details… here’s where we will be staying as we work on Alabama’s gulf coast in a variety of ways to meet the needs of gulf coast visitors and residents… www.romarbeach.org

SUMMER BREEZE MAKES ME FEEL FINE
We recently had a terrific sign up for “G3″ (goofy games & God) for the summer of ‘09. Students of all ages volunteered to lead games and devotionals throughout the summer for our Wednesday night get togethers. See me (jeff) if you did not get a chance to sign up. This summer will be filled with opportunities for service and leadership. We are also considering local missions possibilities for June & July. Your feedback and participation is essential for fbc to go beyond “filling up our own cups” and actually “serving others.” We all know that MFUGE is HUGE @ fbc fort payne – let’s take the next step this summer and put our faith into practice consistently and locally as well. July 6 through 11 are the dates for MFUGE Nashville. Currently we have 70 students and adults participating. Pray for their preparation and for the many people that will be touched by their service and witness. Want more info. on fuge? www.fuge.com

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please continue to pray for us (jeff and thea) as we seek to share the love of Christ with community teens.
.
Pray for our friend Misti Bryson as she recovers from some recent health problems. Misti lives in Texas; however, she is originally from Centre, AL. More on Misti’s recent challenges:http://www.mercyme.org/blog/2009/05/05/pray-for-misti/
.
Pray for the above-mentioned mission trips (Choir tour, College & Grad Beach Mission Trip, Philippines Trip, MFUGE) as well as our hispanic missions partnership in June (see Doris for more on this one) and our additional local outreach projects (we hope to do some “one day” backyard Bible club projects in Fort Payne on a select number of Thursdays…
.
Also remember our children @ fbc as they take part in a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School. Students from the youth group are essential to this annual event’s success. VBS teachers can use additional volunteers, so see Jeff and / or Doris to plug into this fun-filled week of exciting ministry. VBS dates at fbc: june 7 through 12.
