Preparing for the Summer of 2009…

M-Fuge ’09 – FBC Youth

Where: Belmont University (Nashville, TN)

When: July 6 through 11

 

Adult Chaperones already signed up: Jeff Ford, Jeanne Manning, Beth Mince, Betty Cordell, Angela Rogers, Didi Greenwood, Steve Coulter, Tim Pope, Tammy Story, & more to join as we add more students…

 

Student Participants: A few have already signed up… to sign up please pay a $100 deposit to First Baptist Church by March 15th

Cost to church member participants: $275

Cost to non-church member participants: $325

 

Deposits for 70 people have been pre-paid…

To secure one of these 70 spots for yourself, you must pay your deposit as soon as possible. Currently we do not have a guarantee of more than 70 spots.  

 

March 15th – 1st payment / deposit due: $100           April 15th – 2nd payment due: $75

May 1st – 3rd payment due: $100        June 1st – 4th payment & final payment due: $50

WINTER RETREAT ‘09

Preparation for our WV Winter Retreat…                          notes from Jeff 2.04.09

 

Retreat Verses: Psalm 150:1-6

Retreat Challenge: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord”

 

DEPARTURE DATE AND TIME: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH @ 3PM (begin packing vans)… we will depart from church as soon as all arrive, have prayer with all, & load up.

Spiritual Prep… Familiarize yourself with Psalm 150. This chapter in the Psalms reminds us of why we praise God and how we can praise God. Pray that God would challenge your heart in the area of worship. Pray that God would protect us as we travel and ski. Pray that God would bring our retreat group closer as brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray that we would be a blessing to others as we travel from Alabama to West Virginia. Don’t forget to bring your Bible.

Skiing Prep / What to Bring…

□ Bible (DON’T FORGET THIS ONE)

 

□ Clothing (it will be cold so dress in layers… if you need ski clothes, see jeff as soon as possible, we have extras in the youth room you can borrow, call jeff about this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you are interested… 256.996.5594) Lift Tickets, Skis, Poles, and Ski Boots are provided. Snowboard rental cost extra.

MORE NOTES ON CLOTHING… You will need to use your ski clothes twice: once on Saturday and once on Sunday – You will only need casual clothes for Saturday (after morning / afternoon skiing), Sunday (after morning / afternoon skiing), & Monday (for the ride home).

DO NOT over pack, space is limited: we are taking a 12 passenger van & 15 passenger mini-bus.

WE PLAN TO RETURN TO FORT PAYNE ON MONDAY AT ABOUT 4 OR 5PM.

 

Handheld video games, dvd players, ipods, mp3 players ARE ALLOWED; however, movies and music that are filled with violence, bad language, and anything else that is non-PG is NOT ALLOWED. Please do not abuse your media privileges.

 

The high school principal has requested a letter about your Monday absence. Without the letter from a parent or guardian you may not be excused from your Monday absence.

Before you go to sleep, make sure watch / phone is set to Eastern Time Zone… one hour ahead of AL time

8:15                             Load Vans / Depart for Ski Slopes

 

(allow some travel time: 8 mile drive from where we stay to where we ski)

Before Orientation we will take a group photo if time permits…

 

9AM                            Ski Orientation / Rentals / Ski & Snowboard Adventures Begin

 

(after ski orientation remember to get 10 dollars from Jeff for your lunch)

 

4:30PM                       Load Vans to go get ready for Dinner

 

6PM to 7PM               Dinner Reservation @ Rotunda Dinner Buffet… we eat in Woodland Rm #1

7:30                             Worship / Bible Study (bring your Bible, Notebook, & Pen)

 

After Worship… Recreation Time, Free Time, Relax, Rest, Etc…
