SPRING BREAK YOUTH MISSION TRIP IN MARCH

Several Students will be loading the church vans this month and traveling to Blairsville, GA for a Wednesday through Saturday mission trip. The group will be painting the Sunday school rooms of a partner church, making connections with hikers on the Appalachian trail through acts of servant evangelism, and taking part in festival ministries at baby-land general (the site of the cabbage patch kids factory in Helen, GA). The tools of this mission trip include paint brushes (for church walls and face paint), balloon animals, children’s crafts, hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cold water. One of our chief connections to the ministries at local churches, trail-heads, and the festival in Helen is North American Mission Board Missionary: Keith Ivey. Please pray for Keith as he prepares for our arrival during the week of Spring Break. The Ivey Family are friends of FBC Fort Payne through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

‘08 SKI TRIP REPORT

If a picture is worth one thousand words then our full ski trip report in printed form would likely match the length of an entire set of encyclopedias. The ski trip’s success can be best understood through a viewing of the FBC Fort Payne ‘08 Ski Trip DVD. The DVD contains literally hundreds of photos and a few video segments of our trip. A special thanks to the adults that assisted with the preparation and implementation of our adventure in North Carolina. If you would like a copy of the SKI DVD, please let Jeff know.

WITH YOUR LIFE

When I was a teenager, sometimes I would feel insignificant. Do you? When I was a teenager, sometimes I wonder if my life really mattered that much. Do you? Sometimes we think that being young puts us at a disadvantage. Yet we see in the Bible that very often in God’s story when young believers trusted God, they were often elevated and used by God (like in the lives of David, Isaac, Mary, and Timothy). We can thank God for the ways he can transform our lives at any age. We can respond to God with any questions we have about how to live our lives in relationship to this passage of Scripture: as an older minister, Paul, speaks words of encouragement to a younger minister, Timothy…

…don’t let anyone put you down because you are young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by intergrity. 1 Timothy 4:12
